Laswa

String Beans, Alogbate ( Vietnamese spinach), patola (smooth gourd), bittermelon and eggplant

What is laswa? "Laswa" is an Ilonggo word that refers to a mixed vegetable thin soup that is very popular in Western Visayas, Philippines. In this post, the ingredients are the vegetables in the above picture. It is so easy to prepare "laswa" as all you need is mix all vegetables together and put some water.
We usually add shrimp to "laswa", however, since my husband can't eat seafoods because of gout conditions that restricts him from eating high purine foods, my version of laswa is all vegetables, and I just added sea salt and I powdered sea weed! I think it is the sea weed that added magic, since even without shrimp, the taste is not inferior at all.
