May Gray Ends....June Gloom Begins

Dawn from our Home
We no longer wake up with colorful dawn in the morning, instead, our mornings are always greeted by fog,

The Perfect Partner For Any Dress

Breathe In.....I finally am done with too much hardwork. :)

Starting tomorrow, I no longer have to worry about both studies and work, I only have to think of work. After three years of hard work, balancing both studying and teaching at the same time, I finally completed all the process for my clear credentials in both math and chemistry. Now, I do not have to worry about expiring credentials, because clear credential is now for life!

Sleep, Eat, Work

I must admit that I love sleeping and eating. Work sometimes deprives me of the time to enjoy my basic needs. So whenever I have the luxury to pamper myself I treat myself to photo walks and eating out with friends at new places we hear about.   Relaxation gives me the energy I need to listen to our clients and render them care they so deserve.

Blue

My Blue World @ North La Jolla Shores
Blue, the color of the sky, ocean, and tranquility. Blue is the color of inspiration, sincerity and spirituality. Now, talking of sincerity, it reminds me of dear friend Zenserly whose favorite color is blue. I never realized the sound of her name is very much related to blue.

Tomato and Mixed Vegetables Rice

Tomato and Mixed vegetables Rice
My mother in law gave us two huge bottles of tomato juice last holidays. Since I am not so fond of tomato juice, I thought of using the tomato juice for cooking instead since I love anything with tomatoes. This one has been a hit in our simple home so far. Though it means this dish has only been tasted by two persons, but we so enjoy having this that we mostly had tomato rice everyday :) Of course, just mixed with different vegetable.

Welcome to our Home

When you visit our humble home, it is our family dogs you will first meet. Junpeow here loves hanging out at the lawn. He has acquired the license to lay down on my precious Vietnam Roses whose blooms magically close when the area ceases to be sunny just around past lunch.

A Need for Underwater Point And Shoot Camera

Group of Starfish Cleaving Together
I have always been fascinated by the ocean world. I remember my younger days where I had to hide underwater whenever I saw my mom looking for us, shouting our name. I would ask my younger brothers, "come on, hide! dock down under water!" Of course, we could never really hide from our mom that long, eventually, we had to go home. And at that young age of my life, going home, which meant no longer in the water, meant tears. At night, I would still dream of the waves rocking me and giving me one fascinating ride.

Colors and You

Flowers always cheer me up. They've been painted wonderfully by the Creator that I am always speechless when seeing one for the first time. Petals look delicate yet their magic is beyond compare. Some have rugged edges while others have smooth well defined contours; they have vivid hues that seem to transport the mind to another dimension when stared at. When I touch them I get this dreamy sensation of fields and streams and hills and plains that are carpeted with all the wonders of the world. I took the following shots at a Botanical Garden while on a break from a seminar and yes all my stress from thinking and analyzing were blown away.

Sending Love Your Way

My current love for the outdoors started when I discovered the joy of sharing thoughts and photos on the web. I used to love staying under the sun as a child and teenager but I think somewhere between starting a family of my own and concentrating on a career I lost that passion. Having met so many wonderful friends in the worldwide web has turned me into a better  person. Someone who has become more aware of her responsibilities in saving Mother Earth. How can I not spend time under fluffy clouds and blue skies with so many fascinating wild flowers even on sand?

Nesting Cattle Egret

Cattle Egret With Her 3 Eggs

Memories of Home

Trees hold a special place in every nature lover's heart. Its leaves raised up to heaven provide shelter for the tired and weary. Fruits offer the most nutritious snack and wood from trees build sturdy homes as well as furniture for families.

I've been digging my files for photos of our grandparent's home where an uncle used to live for he terribly misses the scent of old home sweet home but unfortunately could not find them but instead stumbled upon my travel to the North shots of historical things made of lumber.

Providing a Safe Environment for a Disabled Patient

There are a great number of people who are living here in the United States, and they are also taking care of their disabled relatives. Being a caregiver to someone with any kind of medical condition is something that can be stressful, and many of us are not prepared for all of the tings that we are going to be expected to do at the time that we are called upon to help the person that we are helping. There are also many of us who are placed into these kinds of positions who are not prepared for it.

Nature Brought the Goods So GOOD!!!!

**Just like my previous post Conquering Fear, I wrote this post several years ago for my now non-existent Friendster Blog, and re-living these memories, I am re-posting it here.

After a month of hibernation at home being struck with allergies and asthma, I was finally able to enjoy the outdoors starting last weekend! And being out is just soooooo goooood, really good!!!! God is so kind, so gracious. He just knows how to shower this simple girl with priceless gifts that will last her a lifetime!!

Orchid Cactus

Epiphyllum ( Pink Variety )
( all photos in this post were taken by my cell phone camera )
The first time I saw epiphyllum, I told myself I will bring it home. The flowers are among the most beautiful I saw of the cactus family. Epiphyllum or orchid cacti is native to Central America, but can be propagated almost anywhere provided given the right conditions.  Epiphyllum unlike most cacti grow best in shaded areas, however, just like any cactus, they will rot when there is too much water. Watering must only be done when the soil feels dry, and the soil will not hold water. Though epiphyllum will most likely die in wet conditions, however, the soil should also not be totally dried or the roots may also die.
Growing or propagating orchid cactus is through cutting the broad leaves. Just like any cactus, after cutting, they must be dried first and allow to harden thoroughly before planting.

The Gift of Genuine Friendship

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
This one is for Chay, the friend who colored my world yellow. I remember reading her blog posts for the first time not so long ago. What touched this soul the most was her prayerful aura. Her words were always replete with humble words of thanks for the goodness of the Lord to her family amidst challenges. One line I vividly remember is her noticing the moon beams gently entering their bedroom and her thinking of how good the Creator is at that very moment. She loves the color yellow and yes each time I see yellow, I see her...I think of her, and automatically I pray, like she inspired me to. Sharing with you, all shades of sunshine that remind me of Chay...
