Splendid Vacation within the Neighborhood

Squeezing in a grand vacation within your very busy schedule seemed to be very hard to do these days. A lot of people can’t afford to have absences at work basically because a day’s salary would already mean a lot.

Love, Flowers and Diamond Engagement Rings

~Thanks to Zen, for this post.~

Rain kissing flowers is one of the most wonderful moments I love capturing with my cam. I always wonder why the tender petals aren't harmed by the downpour unless of course when rough winds blow with the waters from above.

Boogie Boarding Fun

Last weekend, my cousin from L.A. joined us for two days. Our days at the beach were long, from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. How could we stay long at the beach? We spent some hiking, a little bit running,

On friendship, photography and Stewart Esten

- guest post by Zen, of The Letters of November-

Connecting with friends around the globe never fails to relax me. Thanks to technology, getting in touch with the ones we love has become easy. I love hearing the latest news about the lives of my dear friends who like me have become photo enthusiasts. Seeing the rest of the world through their lens inspires me each day.

Blog Stats

Do you check your blog stat's once a while? I do! Not so much to know if my friends indeed checked the link I posted in my Facebook :) but more so, to determine the direction of my site. I am not actively promoting any of my two sites, I blog hop to only a few dear blogging friends I have kept in contact for years, and my busy schedule won't allow me to add more sites to blog hop consistently. I would love to since I really enjoy reading someone's experiences and inspiring walks through life, but both time and my health conditions ( I suffer from migraine when I spend too much computer time) won't allow. Knowing that I can not really actively promote my blog to increase traffic to my site, I rely on my stats to get some inspirational kick once a while. Or some idea!

Around the Block: For Every Mile

I found another way of entertaining myself when doing my regular run around our neighborhood block.  That is take a picture for every mile. :) I used my Garmin Forerunner GPS Fitness Monitor to remind me of the mileage, so that I can be exact in stopping for a picture. I took pictures using my cell phone.
Here are my pictures for every mile:
@ Mile 0:

Peach Rose for Cher of Sweet Memoirs
Pardon me if I have to include mile 0, which is at home. I just have to start my run then walk with this picture. This rose has been blooming since a long time ago, and I had been planning to take a picture for Cher because I could not cut the flowers to send to Singapore. However, I kept on telling myself I will take a shot tomorrow, until, there is only one blossom left right now. I must take a picture, before there will be none left tomorrow.

iPhone Photography

What is my favorite light weight, compact, and on the go point and shoot camera? I must say it is my cell phone, an iPhone 4s. I had thought before of buying a small point and shoot camera for every day use to capture surprising moments of everyday life, however, I was stopped from buying because of the price and carrying an extra gadget. The money I would pay for a point and shoot camera, I could use for getting a new cell phone. There would be no need for me to carry both cell phone and a small camera, especially if I am running where I do not bring any purse with me. There was also no need for me to carry an extra iPod, I can use my cell phone to listen to my favorite music when am on the road, or when am hiking, or when am running. The iPhone has become my small, lightweight, camera and computer in one! Here are some pictures I took using iPhone from our recent Montana-Wyoming Vacation.

Come, Visit San Diego

La Jolla's Casa Beach or Children's Pool, La Jolla, San Diego, CA
Harbor Seal @ The Children's Pool
One of the things I love in my home city is the mix of a highly urbanized city and the richness of natural world. It may be hard to associate that with other large cities, but the unique geography and topography of San Diego has allowed the intermixing of urbanity

Visiting Los Angeles

Los Angeles.....the city of angels....the city where most would probably think only about Beverly Hills and Hollywood. For those who look further than the busy metropolis though, knows that Los Angeles actually offers so many natural gems hidden behind its sparkling lights. Like many of most California major cities, vacationing in Los Angeles would make one experience what a micro-climate is like in this very geologically diverse city. If one takes the time to venture anywhere other than the metropolis noise, one will find that Nature does exist and triumphs in this city where most people think nature has been forgotten in this star wanna be filled city.
